The West Africa Tourism Peace and Economic Integration Organization (WATPECO) made its official debut at the SLANGO Annual General Meeting, presenting its mission to promote peace and economic development through tourism across West Africa.

Led by Project Coordinator Mr. David Tucker Jr., WATPECO introduced its focus areas, including community-based tourism, youth empowerment, and regional peacebuilding. The meeting opened doors for potential partnerships with SLANGO members and other NGOs aligned with similar goals.

Key challenges highlighted included funding constraints, capacity gaps, and cross-border coordination. Despite these, resolutions were adopted to develop joint proposals, formalize partnerships, and initiate capacity-building programs.

WATPECO extends sincere thanks to SLANGO and all participants for the opportunity to engage and collaborate for regional progress.
